Global Health - Working with Marginalized Communities

Intern with an organization dedicated to building activist lives for social change, inspiring community action for human rights and dignity across various domains such as education, health, culture, citizenship, employment, and respect for diversity. This organization focuses its efforts on education and issues affecting Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian people in Kosovo, operating five learning centers serving approximately 500 children daily.


Internship Opportunity: Global Health Project


Join the global health project aimed at developing a public health curriculum related to education, health, housing, anti-discrimination, and social issues, along with a sexual reproductive health curriculum. Interns will have the chance to contribute to research on current and future needs, develop projects, and prepare grant proposals.


Interns can work on the following projects:


1. Inclusive Education in Kosovo – Learning Centers for Children from Minority Communities:

   - Provide educational and social-emotional support for at least 350 children and youth from disadvantaged groups.

   - Promote their inclusion in the educational system and improve future employment chances.


2. Kosovo Integration (KOSINT) 2020:

   - Improve access for Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities to employment, housing, and democratization.

   - Contribute to the fulfillment of commitments made by the Government of Kosovo.


3. Awareness Raising and Immunization of Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian Children:

   - Increase access to immunization services for children from these communities.

   - Raise awareness about the importance of immunization.


4. Promoting, Raising Awareness, and Protecting the Rights of the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian Communities:

   - Empower communities, especially youth and women, to raise awareness about their rights based on legal frameworks.

   - Improve the socio-economic situation of these communities.


5. Learning Centers Network:

   - Support children’s success in school through an integrated education and development program.

   - Reach approximately 400 children daily across five learning centers.


Internship Requirements:

   - Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in global health, public health, medical studies, communications, or related fields and skills.

   - Opportunity for students to fulfill academic credit, practicum, research, or capstone project requirements.
